Samia Halaby, a Palestinian refugee artist and scholar living in New York was born in 1936 in Jerusalem, during the British Mandate. she is recognized today as being one of the Arab world’s leading contemporary painters. Her work differs from figurative and direct images relating to Palestine. Some of her Paintings, varied with colorful features of abstract images of flowers ad landscapes, resonate with her Palestinian roots.
